PM Narendra Modi addressed a program commemorating 40 years of Suzuki in India, at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Modi laid the foundation stone of Suzuki Vehicle Manufacturing Facility for Kharkhoda Haryana and Suzuki EV Battery Plant for Hansalpur Gujarat.
Modi said the success of Maruti Suzuki is a unconfined example of the strength of the India-Japan relationship. From the automobile to the biofuel sector, over 125 Japanese companies are working in Gujarat. One of the unconfined features of electric vehicles is that they are silent. Be it a 2-wheeler or a 4-wheeler, they don’t make any noise. This silence is not only well-nigh its engineering, but it is moreover the whence of a silent revolution in the country.
Electric vehicles are bringing a silent revolution in India. Today India considers electric vehicles not an spare vehicle but a necessary step. We are rapidly working on both supply and demand of the EV ecosystem. From relaxation in tax to easier loan facilities, we are working to increase the demand for EVs. India has spoken in COP-26 that it will get 50% of its installed electricity topics from non-fossil sources by 2030. With Innovation and Prayas as our priorities, we will unzip our minutiae goals at the Gati which can be observed through our modern expressways.
Suzuki Motor EV Battery manufacturing facility will be set up in Hansalpur, Gujarat with an investment of Rs 7,300 cr. to manufacture Advance Chemistry Cell batteries. During the program, Toshihiro Suzuki, President, Suzuki Motor Corporation announces the establishment of a new company, Suzuki R&D Center India. Suzuki aims to strengthen its R&D competitiveness and capabilities in new fields of technologies not only for India but moreover for the global markets

Suzuki Motor older in March spoken that it would invest around Rs 10,445 crore by 2026, for local manufacturing of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and batteries in Gujarat. Also, SMG will invest Rs 3,100 crore for increasing production topics for BEV manufacturing by 2025.
