West Way proud to support ‘fabulous’ fund-raising golf day

The organisers of a soft-heartedness golf day have thanked West Way for their help in making the event a huge success.

Every year, the soft-heartedness WellChild hosts the ‘Ed Chamberlain Golf Classic’ in order to raise funds to support families with seriously ill children, and West Way are proud to support the cause.

Representatives from the visitor were in ubiety at the Belfry Hotel and Resort, Sutton Coldfield, to support WellChild at the ninth yearly event.

This year WellChild were worldly-wise to raise a massive £50,000, and have raised nearly £500,000 since the inaugural event in 2014.

West Way provided two challenges to players on the day – a hole-in-one rencontre and a longest momentum challenge.

Much like previous years, West Way sponsored slum seven on the resort’s Brabazon course, offering all players the endangerment to win a trademark new Nissan Qashqai with e-POWER if they played a hole-in-one.

Unfortunately, nobody was worldly-wise to unzip this, but stars such as AP McCoy took a squint virtually and worshiped the vehicle.

The ‘longest drive’ rencontre was inspired by the lengths that some families have to go to in order for their child to receive treatment.

West Way promised to donate £5 for every yard of the longest drive. The winning drive, by Simon Lucas, measured 281 yards, meaning Simon raised an incredible £1,405 on his own!

Mark Lane, West Way’s Group Used Car manager, who joined Team West Way to play on the day, said: “We were very happy to be peekaboo the Ed Chamberlain Golf Classic to raise money for WellChild, who we have been involved with for a number of years now.
